ナースステーションに「『患者さま』と呼びましょう」という貼り紙があったので、あれは何ですかと訊ねた。 看護学部長が苦笑いして、「厚労省からのお達しです」と教えてくれた。 そして、「患者さま」という呼称を採用してから、院内の様子がずいぶん変わりましたと言った。 何が変わったのですかと訊ねると、「医師や看護師に対して暴言を吐く患者が増えた、院内規則を破って飲酒喫煙無断外出する患者が増えた、入院費を払わないで退院する患者が増えた」と三点指折り数えて教えてくれた。
