余談だが、興味深かったのが「自分の出方次第で相手の反応が変わる」ことを筆者が説明する際の会話だ。相手は、民間の航空宇宙会社に勤める職員である。

　「すべてはコンテクスト次第で、御社の得意先が、あなたの発言や態度をどのように解釈するかが変わるんです」

　「おっしゃる意味が、よく分かりません」

　「たとえば物理の話に置き換えてみましょう。あなたと得意先の人が電子だとします。何が起こりますか？」

　「強い反発作用を示します」

　「そのとおりです。では、あなたが中性子に変わったらどうですか？」

　「反発作用はなくなります……つまり、わたしが変われば関係性も変化するということですね」

　そうか、その例だと分かるのか……。
